This map, often referred to as the Macrocosm, is the definitive guide to the structure of a single universe in Dragon Ball ( Universe 7) made by [Akira Toriyama](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akira_Toriyama). It shows that the world isn't just "space" but a giant, enclosed sphere divided into two main halves the Afterlife (The Cosmos) and the Living World (The Universe).

The sphere is divided into 2 main halves **The COSMOS (**Afterlife) and **The Universe** (Living World)

### **1. The Lower Half (The Universe/Living World)** The bottom half is the physical realm where the series main events takes place. It is a space filled with stars, planets and divided Galaxies into **North, South, East, and West quadrants**.

Earth, New Namek, Yardrat, Planet Cereal, Planet Vampa, Planet Wagashi, Planet Potaufeu, Zuno's Planet, Galactic Patrol Headquarters Planet, Planet Metamor, Planet Zoon, Dark Star, Planet Snak and more The Universe is endlessly expanding, based on our actual universe. As an ℵ₀ (aleph-null) infinity three-dimensional (3D) space, it qualifies as **High 3-A** (High Universe level).

### **2. The Upper Half (Afterlife/Other World)**

Other world is separated from the Living World

So, NO. The Afterlife is **not** a higher spatial dimension or a mathematical dimension like 4D or 5D. It's a **higher level of existence** a spiritual realm that exists beyond the living world. The series consistently describes the Afterlife as a place where souls go after death, not as an additional spatial axis or geometric dimension. Its "higher" nature refers to its **ontological or existential status**, not to extra mathematical dimensions. Nothing in the official context states that the Afterlife is a 4D, 5D, or higher dimensional space in the mathematical sense. Instead, it is portrayed as a separate plane of existence governed by different rules and inhabited by spiritual beings such as gods, souls, and deceased fighters. Therefore, interpreting the Afterlife as a spiritual or higher existential realm is far more consistent with Dragon Ball's lore than treating it as a higher spatial dimension. Calling it "higher" refers to its place in the cosmology and hierarchy of existence, not to the number of spatial dimensions it possesses.

> "Those sorted out as good people among the dead gather here. **It is about as wide as the universe**, and its entire surface is a field of flowers". the **Afterlife** (Other World) is officially established to be **equal in spatial size and scale** to the physical **Living World** (Universe 7's Mortal Realm). > ^{Daizenshuu 7, Page 224} * **Heaven:** A massive, planet sized world of beauty and peace reserved for those who did good in their lives.

* **Enma-Daioh's Palace:** The gateway to the Afterlife. This is where King Yemma (Enma-Daioh) sits at his desk to judge every soul, deciding if they go to Heaven or Hell.

* **Snake Way:** 1 million kilometer path that starts at Enma Daioh’s palace and leads to King Kai’s planet.

`“1,000,000 km. The entrance of Snake Way, said to be that long, is located at the back of Enma Daiō’s castle. Even Goku took half a year to run its full length!”`

`“Snake Way. The road connecting the North Kaiō Planet with Enma Daiō’s Palace in the afterlife. It is shaped like a snake, so it’s called “Snake Way.” This road is entirely about 1,000,000 km long. If one steps off this path` * **Kaioh's Planet:** The tiny planet at the end of Snake Way where (Kaio) lives. Despite its small size, it has 10x Earth's gravity and time flows differently here because 158 days on kaioh's planet is like few Thousand years worth of training here.

* **Hell:** Located at the very bottom of the spiritual half (the dark area beneath the clouds). This is where wicked souls are sent to be cleansed or contained.

* **Demon Realm:**

In the Demon Realm, magic is more developed than science, and its undisputed king, Dabura who boasts the absolute strongest power in the Demon Realm possesses high battle power and uses magic capabilities such as turning opponents to stone. He was controlled by the wizard Babidi and fought against Goku and the others. Afterwards, he was defeated by Majin Buu. After his death, by the ruling of King Enma, he was sent to Heaven on the reasoning that sending him to Hell would actually make him happy. > > Said to exist on the "r**everse side of the universe**" *(宇宙の裏側 - Uchū no uragawa)*, the Demon Realm lies outside the jurisdiction of That World (the Afterlife), **making it a realm that not even the Kaiōs or Kaiōshins can fully grasp**. For this reason, the details regarding the species living there remain shrouded in mystery, and its full scope has never been made clear.

Demon Realm ≠ Hell

### **3. Subspace** The Dragon Ball macrocosm contains pocket dimensions that exist outside any world, occupying the void between realms. These isolated dimensions possess their own independent temporal axes, with time flowing separately from the main universe, as seen in locations like the Room of Time and Spirit.

This room is stated to have a completely different dimension of time (temporal) from the living world.

where a full year (1 year) of training takes place in just **1 day** in real time of universe meaning it has temporal dilation

Hyperbolic Time Chamber is **separate dimension** from living world it has **10x times more gravity** compared to earth

The Size of this World is same as Earth (12,756 km (7,926 m)), Therefore its pocket dimension with temporal (time) dilation

The interior is a white space with nothing in it except for a building that serves as the entrance/exit, and **its area is equivalent in scale to the Earth**. Furthermore, the room temperature changes rapidly, making it unsuitable for daily living. Its greatest feature is that the flow of time is different here. A year here is a single day in Earth time. It is a room that certainly seems to say, "Do your training!" ### **4. The Sacred World of the Kai** This is a special realm that orbits the entire sphere of a single Universe (like Universe 7). It is the home of the Supreme Kais. It is physically separated from the Living World and the Afterlife, and mortals usually cannot reach it without teleportation

Kaiōshin World > ^{Among the Kaiō, there exist top ranking ones. It's the world where the Kaiōshin reside. Its scope is 1/10th of the Otherworld and the World of The Living's combined spaces. It constantly revolves around the Otherworld and The World of The Living, watching over and maintaining the balance of the universe. The Kaiōshin World is centered around the Kaiōshin planet, the only one existing in the Kaiōshin World, which is surrounded by countless, small suns. Only the Supreme Kai, his attendant Kibito and the Elder Kai live in the Kaiōshin World. Aside from the Kaiōshin, no other being or soul can enter the Kaiōshin World. To visit the Kaiōshin World, one has no choice aside from either asking for Kibito's help or reach it via Instant Transmission.}

I hope you know the difference ### **5. The Multiverse Structure** In Dragon Ball Super, we learn there are 12 Universes in total. {% embed url="" %}

Twin Universes: Universes whose numbers add up to 13 (ex. 6 and 7) are "twins" and contain similar planets and races. In short, Universes has a "Nested" cosmology. It isn't just one big room, it is a room (Living World) inside a larger house (The Macrocosm), inside a neighborhood (The Multiverse) ### 6. Neutral Space

In DB there exists **the Neutral Space** where the "tournament of destroyers" (universe 6 vs universe 7) took place in.

The Neutral Space has its stars and galaxies making it an larger universe than 12 normal universes. making it truly infinite 3d in size

There is no evidence or statement that the neutral space is higher spatial dimensional or has extra spatial axes. 3d beings such as bulma, chi-chi, oolong, mr. satan, and videl were present in the neutral space on the nameless planet during the tournament, in a 4d,5d,6d,7d realm 3d beings can not exist.

### **7. Zeno's Palace** At the absolute peak of everything is the Palace of Zeno. This sits outside the 12 universes entirely.

### **How Timeline Works in Dragon Ball?** {% embed url="" %} > _{Time is extremely fragile, and traveling backward through it is forbidden because even the smallest change can create massive ripple effects. A minor action could alter cities, civilizations, or even destroy an entire planet. Because the consequences are so severe, even most gods are forbidden from freely manipulating time, regardless of their intentions.}

**Dragon Ball's time travel operates through branching timelines rather than rewriting a single history**. future trunks initially believes that traveling to the past, giving goku the heart medicine, and preventing the androids attack will save his own future. However, after arriving, he notices that the past is already different from the one he remembers, with stronger androids and altered events. bulma then questions whether defeating the androids in the past would erase them from trunks present, to which trunks explains that it would not, using goku as evidence although present goku survives because of the medicine trunks brought (**he took action**), future goku in trunks original timeline still died. from this, trunks concludes that **"each change in the past (change in history) creates new futures ( timelines ),"** meaning every alteration produces a separate timeline while the original remains unchanged. thus, his journey does not rewrite his own history but instead creates a new timeline where events unfold differently, leaving his original future intact. `I created this diagram for better understanding`

the **Time Ring** is a divine artifact that allows travel only **between the present and the future**, while traveling back to the past is strictly forbidden because altering history is considered extremely dangerous. Gowasu reveals that the additional time Rings stored in the box represent **other worlds created when history was rewritten**, confirming that every successful change to the past creates a **new timeline** rather than overwriting the original one. Each newly created timeline receives its own time Ring, while the original timeline continues to exist independently. this directly supports dragon ball's branching timeline model, where changing the past results in multiple coexisting timelines instead of rewriting a single continuous history.

1 Time Ring = 1 Timeline

the left column represents future trunks original timeline, where the androids devastated earth and goku black later began destroying that world. the right column represents the main dragon ball timeline, where beerus killed zamasu before he could become goku black, creating a new timeline in which zamasu no longer exists. however, this did not erase goku black because he originated from a different timeline. after stealing goku's body in the main timeline, goku black used the time ring to travel to future trunks' separate timeline, where both goku black and the future zamasu coexisted, resulting in the **"two zamasus"** seen during the future trunks arc. the diagram demonstrates that changes made in one timeline create a new parallel timeline instead of rewriting the original, allowing multiple independent timelines and different versions of the same character to exist simultaneously.

when beerus used hakai on the main dbs timeline zamasu, it created a new timeline because beerus acted on knowledge of the future. by taking an action that altered events, he split the timeline instead of changing the original future in which zamasu stole goku's body and became goku black.

Beerus actions immediately creates a new time ring (timeline), shown in dbs manga, chapter 20 `Let me explain it in a simpler way` **P1:** future trunks knowledge of the future led him to travel to the past and alter historical events (e.g, warning goku/others about androids before they appear and providing the heart medicine). **P2:** the manga explicitly states that these alterations did not overwrite trunks original future. instead, "each change in the past creates new futures." **P3:** during the goku black arc, beerus learned of zamasu's future actions (through information from the future) and used hakai to erase the main timeline's zamasu before he could steal goku's body. **P4:** beerus decision to erase zamasu was a direct alteration of history that would otherwise have led to zamasu becoming goku black. **P5:** dragon ball super further explains that whenever history is rewritten, a new timeline ("other world") is created, and this is represented by the creation of a new time ring. **P6:** despite beerus erasing the main timeline's zamasu, goku black continued to exist because he originated from a different, already existing timeline, demonstrating that the original timeline was not overwritten. **C:** therefore, beerus hakai of the main timeline's zamasu created a new branching timeline in which zamasu never became goku black, while the original timeline where goku black existed remained unchanged, consistent with dragon ball's branching timeline model.

Altering history ⇒ Creates a new timeline.

`Some argue that every possibility creates a new timeline. Let me address that.` **P1:** in dragon ball, new timelines are created only when history is actively altered through actions taken with knowledge of future events. **P2:** future trunks created a new timeline by traveling to the past, warning the z fighters, and giving goku the heart virus medicine actions that were only possible because he possessed knowledge of the future. **P3:** beerus likewise altered history after learning from the future that zamasu would steal goku's body, prompting him to erase zamasu with hakai before those events could occur. **P4:** the manga explicitly states that "each change in the past creates new futures" and that the additional time rings represent "other worlds created when history was rewritten." **P5:** throughout dragon ball, no evidence is presented that ordinary decisions, random possibilities, or hypothetical choices automatically generate new timelines. **P6:** every confirmed timeline shown in the series originates from a deliberate alteration of history caused by time travel or future knowledge, rather than from normal causal progression. **C:** therefore, within dragon ball's cosmology, new timelines are created only through deliberate historical alterations enabled by knowledge of the future or time travel, not by every ordinary decision or possible outcome.

spatial 3D (space) + temporal 1D (time) = **4D**, transcending statement **4D < 5D** then DB scales to 5d **Low Complex Multiverse (Low 1-C)**
